Join me in the New York  Screening of “Breeders: A Subclass of Women?” on June 18th

As I have long said that there is a strong correlation between what happens in surrogacy and what happens in adoption, so a film like Breeders is very important. It is an honest look at the risks of surrogate mothers and the commoditization of fertility and pregnancy, egg donations, and assisted reproductive technology in regard to human rights violations and women’s empowerment. Surrogacy is making all the same mistakes that have been made in adoption and have not yet learned from the past decades of education and awareness because the two have been seen as separate, but it’s really not very different.

There Is No Escaping Mother’s Day for Birthmothers

On a day meant to honor motherhood, you can’t help thinking of the one you never get to see. You can’t help missing those who are missing from your life. Mother’s Day, like birthdays and holidays of any sort, become a time to reflect and wonder where your child is and who he honors on that day. Does he think of you? Does he wonder? What is his name and are his eyes as blue?

Walking the Talk on the Radio THIS Thursday!

How to Come out of the Adoption Closet and Use Your Voice!

I’ll be chatting with my AAC roomie Adoptee LeAnne Parsons this Thursday May, 1st, 2014
So there is more info on the Facebook event, but in general consider it like an inside view of what Leanne and I talked about as we fell asleep each night in San Francisco at the AAC conference!

Hope for Ethiopian Families; An Ethiopian Adoption Search Registry

Ethiopian Adoption Connection is a searchable database, the objective of which is to match Ethiopian adoptees living around the world with their families in Ethiopia. I’m really very proud of it. It’s clean and simple which was key. We had to anticipate language and cultural issues, plus privacy verses searchability. Check it out at http://ethiopianadoptionconnection.org/.

Adoption Fundraisers, Church Tax Deductions, the Adoption Tax Credit and Fraud?

What I have discovered is that the huge amounts of money in adoption and specifically in adoption funding through church again, makes my jaw not just drop, but fall to the floor and go hide in a corner trembling. But it’s all ok, right? Because we are saving children from the horrible fate of living in apartments with their single mothers and having to go to day care.

Debunking OBC Access Myths and Fears; Abortion Rates Will Go Up

Have the abortion rates in those states gone up since OBC access was restored which would indicate that women fear this lack of mythological privacy in adoption? If a women knows that someday her relinquished child will be an adult and could access his or her original birth certificate with her name on it, will she abort the pregnancy rather than give birth? Abortions rates say NO! Adoptee Equality Proves to be NO Threat to Unborn Babies!

Adoption Advocates International Shuts Down!

One chart counts children and the other chart counts millions of dollars in profits and revenue for ONE adoption agency. They really shouldn’t correlate, should they? If adoption was ethical and not a business and not based on supply and demand than these two charts should not relate to each other at all, right? Especially a fine accredited long standing nonprofit adoption agency like Adoption Advocates International that has “saved” children for 30 years.

How to Use Social Media for An Adoption Search

To get your search found by the right person should they be searching for you. There are usually three things that are identifiers in an adoption search: Sex of the adoptee, birth date and location. These three things are usually known by both parties and not likely to be altered.
