So I Really HAVE been busy!

Yes, I breath still.

It’s been a long summer, but so worth it. I don’t even know where to begin. It’s hard to even imagine that I haven’t written a dern thing since May!

June I hid….really. That was my time of painting lawn chairs, moving around the bluestone patio, etc. I really treid to force adoption out of my brain..and when I did think about it..which I did…I just coundn’t do anything with it.
Then come July, I had to begin again as I was committeed, happily, to doing the presentation with Thirdmom at KAAN.

Since it is now 5 weeks later..and I have SO MUCH more…I’ll just say it was wonderful and leave it at that!

Now one of the things that did end up eating time was that Rye and I decided to actually get married this year on our anniversary. We never did bother doing the legal thang..though I have thought of him as my husband for the last 8 years in everyway…spirtually, emotinal, mentally…etc..we just needed to make it legal.

So we did. In our way…very unconventional…I am SO not a bride kind of chick..I depise wearing white…and really, I am not a person who would ever go into debt for a party..no matter how important. So we planned for basically a fun time..with friends and family at our favorite local bar.

Now of course, my greatest dream would be that Max was there. And though he responded very positivily when I told him in June, I hadn’t heard from him since then, didn’t hook up with him when I was in Boston in July, and had given up hope.

Should I leave you in suspense???

It was just this past Sunday…August 19th. And by the way, I am now officially Claudia Corrigan D’Arcy. Sheeley was from my first marrige..so it was time for that to go.

Oh, and thank you all for your well wishes and good thoughts, Laura is doing much better and was there at the wedding!

Are you dying to know?

Yeah..I am the luckiest woman in the universe. I got my dearest wish come true. Not only did I marry a great guy surrounded with friends, family and neighbors…but for the first time in my like..all four of my children were together.

There is really SO much more..I am still processing really..I am still reeling!
But…we have the SAME feet.
His girlfriend rocks.
He SLEPT on MYCOUCH!
Gladly, for those who might want to be annoying..his folks DID know he was here…whew!
My family rocks…as they totally were so great to him and he got completely incorporated.
I caught my mother in law saying to him how she has 6 grandkids.
He told more than one person ..including me..that he felt totally comfortable..he felt like he was home.
And he said he would be back..now he knows the way home.

And if you wish to see a insane number of pictures of our insane day here they are: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1064835260370.10419.1210659509&type=3

I’m BACK!!!

Musings of the Lame was started in 2005 primarily as a simple blog recording the feelings of a birthmother as she struggled to understand how the act of relinquishing her first newborn so to adoption in 1987 continued to be a major force in her life. Built from the knowledge gained in the adoption community, it records the search for her son and the adoption reunion as it happened. Since then, it has grown as an adoption forum encompassing the complexity of the adoption industry, the fight to free her sons adoption records and the need for Adoptee Rights, and a growing community of other birthmothers, adoptive parents and adopted persons who are able to see that so much what we want to believe about adoption is wrong.

  17. First of all congrats on having all four of your kids together. You look so happy having them all there with you. Your wedding day, while special in itself, was made even more special.

I was so glad that I met you at the KAAN conference this year. I’m glad that you have a voice that I don’t think that my children’s First Mom can right now. She is the first thing that I think of when I wake up each morning and the last thing that I think of each night.

I too couldn’t see the photos but I’m using Firefox so I’m going to try under IE instead to see if that works.

I’m so happy for you and your entire family!!!

  21. Wow. What GREAT news. It’s made my day.
Congratulations and VERY best wishes for future happiness and success. You deserve it.

    Lovely pic.

  22. I hope you know I’ve been blog challenged all summer, and that’s the only reasons I’m sending ridiculously belated CONGRATULATIONS – and a thank you so very very much for being at KAAN. You absolutely rocked, the session became exactly what I had hoped it would be – an awakening for many, a kick in the pants to start speaking out for others.

You helped close the gap between adoptees, adoptive parents and first parents, Claud. You sent a strong message to a community that has at least to some degree had blinders on. I’m eternally grateful that you were there!!
