Slow…

Slow day, it seems. Where is everyone? What, you have a real life?? The nerve of you all.
Fine, since you are not here, I will entertain myself with the writing about the two new hot crazes that have taken over my house.
Tristan, as well as having a cheese “issue” read obsession, has a similar attraction to Sponge Bob. This has made the yellow one been an importnat part of our lives as almost as log as we have had Tristan. He really, really loves Sponge Bob.

There is finially another show on TV that he talks about almost as much as the yellow one. WonderPets.

Now for those of you who do not need to be subjected to the daily oh-god-will-that-song-get-out-of-my-head world of children’s TV, WonderPets are the tales of three PreSchool pets..a turtle, a baby duck, and a guinea pig. They wait until the kids leave and then go rescue other animals by working together. Hard things like a baby penguin on an iceburg. OH, and they sing though it all..in opera.
It’s ummm cute. And at least it is not the Wiggles. I just don’t GET the Wiggles.
Anyway the animation is kinda…SouthParkesk? The message nice. And now Tristan has something to talk about besides the Sponge..and sing the ripped pants song.

The other thing that I resently was curious about was Goya Coconut soda. Goya has all these neat flavored sodas..and I love the “ethinic” food esile in the supermarket. So one day, it got the better of me and I bought a few cans. Rye pronounced it gross, but Garin and I started to argue over who had dibs on the remaining ones. So now, every trip to the market means a few cans of coocnut come in. I buy four usually (at 59 cents each :)). And this is from a woman who does NOT buy soda. Soda comes when we order pizza as a treat. Anyway, I was trilled the other day to see that they now come in a 2 liter bottle. I am thinking that I am not the only one who suddenly has found this soda so alluring.
It tastes kida like a cream soda, but is clear. Very sweet and definaly nothing but crap. It does work great when mixed with milk..instant egg cream. And is also nice over ice cream..instant ice cream soda!
It’s just tasty.

And while I am pluging commercial junk…since on day I AM going to call Clairol and tell them that they Do owe me money. Like at least twice a week, someone asks me what color my hair is and I relate, with flying colors, the marvel that is Ruby Twilight. Oh, but the picture won’t come up…stupid blogger.
Well, heck..my hair is pretty.

And now you all know how trully unexciting my life really is…but I did do a damn great job cleaning today..and I put away all the laundry. Be impressed, be really impressed.

Musings of the Lame was started in 2005 primarily as a simple blog recording the feelings of a birthmother as she struggled to understand how the act of relinquishing her first newborn so to adoption in 1987 continued to be a major force in her life. Built from the knowledge gained in the adoption community, it records the search for her son and the adoption reunion as it happened. Since then, it has grown as an adoption forum encompassing the complexity of the adoption industry, the fight to free her sons adoption records and the need for Adoptee Rights, and a growing community of other birthmothers, adoptive parents and adopted persons who are able to see that so much what we want to believe about adoption is wrong.

  1. -clapping- Good for you and the laundry! LOL

Yes, I was busy having a life today – I talked to my sister again. -grin- Almost three hours this time. Damn are we a LOT alike!!

Oh, and I totally hear you on the Goya sodas – addictive stuff!

  2. I got up early and wrote a post, went to the supermarket, walked the pug and did the dishes. I loved this post by you, it’s so human in come into my life inviting. YaY!

  3. Finally! Another adult who knows about WonderPets! My daughter is in love with that show; she jumps up and down when it’s on, sings along with it..she’s 2 1/2, so she gets really passionate about these kinds of shows.

I don’t really like the Wiggles either; my son was really into that when that show was first on the Disney channel. But we are a Spongebob household, even my husband likes it!

  4. I have cooked breakfast for husband and a son, put in a load of laundry (I have great fear and loathing of folding and putting away laundry. I HATE it above all things, even more than vacuuming) and posted a post. And now I’m posting you. Next I’m going to do some research on Cuban art, and write a little blurb for a friend who is having an exhibition of aforesaid. Then I’m going wash the kitchen floor and paint some trim.
Then I’m going to watch my soap – then I don’t know what.

Goya sodas sound interesting. I saw a West Indian peanut drink in our local supermarked the other day, but then I got distracted by something and forgot to get one. I will next time – I’m curious.

  5. Been catching up on reading blogs. Folded some laundry. Have yet to take a shower, that’s next, then onto a Dr’s appoint.

I’ll have to check out the Goya drink. DIL went crazy over coconut juice when vacationing in Hawaii. Wondering if she would enjoy the Goya as a substitute.

Am relieved I don’t have to keep up anymore on children’s products/programming. No square pants or WonderPets songs to drive me bonkers.

  6. I may well be able to claim Sponge Bob as a dependent on my taxes this year. My almost 9 year old has been obessed with him for well over three years! He has just about every video cartoon. Sleeps on a Patrick Starfish pillow. We have more than one pair of SB catoon boxers in my huge laundry pile.

Guess there are worse obessions for a kid to have.

The one cartoon that I just love to watch with my boy, ( not sponge bob, btw) is Foster’s Home for Imaginary friends. I love the music, the 70’s retro graphics…Mac reminds me of my boys.. And woe is me…there is an adoption theme….guess I am totally obsessed with adoption.

  7. I am impressed by the fact you have put away all the laundry. With a family nearly the size of mine, I know that you have loads and loads of it!

(still working on putting away laundry)

  8. Ahh..drinking my yummy soda as we speak.
OK..I admit, I put away the laundry, BUT I still have three loads to wash. But getiing the clean away was a huge factor. I am with you Kipper..I detest folding and putting it away.
I made dinner last night AND took a nice long bubble bath!!

I should have stock in Sponge Bob stuff..we have: a winter jacket, hat, and gloves, basket ball hoop, balls ( like 5), all the playsets, pillow cases, All the beene babies, the big overstuffed pillowy one, a tray table, videos, movies, plates, cups, and the exciting talking and singing dolls..rip my pants, fry cook, and another noisy one, laundry baskets, night light, sneakers, two pairs of pjs, numerous shirts, boxer shorts, bubble sets, books, actvity sets of various incriments, and a race track..and that is without looking. I know there is more.
And I am so SICK of drawing that dude.

  9. I’ve been thinking about posting about the wonderpets! my son loves it, and he’s 5!!!! but the song, oh, will it ever go away? very cute show. but don’t take the Sponge away from me!

don’t you think lazytown is worse than wiggles, though?
