Musings of the Lame was started in 2005 primarily as a simple blog recording the feelings of a birthmother as she struggled to understand how the act of relinquishing her first newborn so to adoption in 1987 continued to be a major force in her life. Built from the knowledge gained in the adoption community, it records the search for her son and the adoption reunion as it happened. Since then, it has grown as an adoption forum encompassing the complexity of the adoption industry, the fight to free her sons adoption records and the need for Adoptee Rights, and a growing community of other birthmothers, adoptive parents and adopted persons who are able to see that so much what we want to believe about adoption is wrong.

  1. I think he is really adorable.

Funny, I think he is more like you than my son is like me, I sometimes wonder that, my mom has said I am more like her than her kept kids, didn’t have her to rebel against…

  2. Wow, Claud….he looks just like you, and I’m not just saying that…he DOES! MY oldest son looks just like his paternal progenitor (Or “PP,” as I call him). He’s a fine young man, Sister.

  3. okay, this made me chuckle with deep glee. how very cool. good for him he got his mamas genes.
hes a handsome man – mohawk and all. i cannot imagine how challenging it must for him and other adoptees to live true to their genetic coding in another family.

my daughter had to write a lengthy essay to her adad explaing why her desire to pierce her nose was not a bad thing and did not say bad things about her.

  4. I had messaged with his GF the other day…have I said how much I like her?? She’s so sweet..
Now mind you I have never met her either..but she said the same regarding apples ..just by knowing me though him and our few interactions…and then said “he is definalty your son”…and also said he has nthing but “praise for me”…
    Ahhhh 🙂

  5. Wow, he definitely has the Angry Punk Rock Face down, doesn’t he? He is adorable, Claud.

  6. Oooh Claud, he is sooo cute with that ‘hawk!! 🙂

… and I’m still shaking my head myself over how Star Trek, Babylon 5, C.J. Cherryh novels, food preferences, fashion style, and whole genres of music seem to be genetic traits too! Quite freaky! 🙂
