Low fat fun..

unsolicited opinions and horses assholes

Just a quickie!
This woman comes in tonight and orders Pumpkin Ravioli..good stuff!! Delicate taste, brown butter sherry sauce…note: made of real butter, and sherry..that’s about it. Eats it all..yum yum
THEN proceeds to give her food server, a marvelous left handed Gay Capricorn Man, named James the Cat AKA Poodle..a HUGE hard time because….egads! We don’t have skim milk for her freaking capachino. Like a major hard time:
“What kind of milk do you have?”
“Ummm..we have milk..cow’s milk”
“Nooo, what grade of milk? Do you have skim milk?”
“No I am so sorry, I beleive we only have whole milk”
“You don’t have 2% or 1%?”
“I don’t think so”
“Well that seems like a fairly common thing to expect. I think you should go check”
“Ok I will confirm the milk for you”
“You do that. And if you don’t have skim, I think someone should go to the store and GET some”

Ok, so we watered down the bitches whole milk and gave her a freaking capachino. No one was going to the store (2 miles away!!) to get that princess her correct grade of milk. And she needed to shut up!

Can someone please explain to me how after finishing a million dollar calorie meal, laden with nothing but FAT, carborhdrates, more fat, cheese, aka more fat, and umm FAT..that the percentage of milk fat for the froth of her capp would really make a difference?????

Thank god I was not dealing with her table, because I would have laughed at her face.

Idiot. Complete idiot.

Oh, and she wrote on her comment card that we needed to have skim milk for her capachino.

I added “After wolfing down the fat laden raviolis”

Musings of the Lame was started in 2005 primarily as a simple blog recording the feelings of a birthmother as she struggled to understand how the act of relinquishing her first newborn so to adoption in 1987 continued to be a major force in her life. Built from the knowledge gained in the adoption community, it records the search for her son and the adoption reunion as it happened. Since then, it has grown as an adoption forum encompassing the complexity of the adoption industry, the fight to free her sons adoption records and the need for Adoptee Rights, and a growing community of other birthmothers, adoptive parents and adopted persons who are able to see that so much what we want to believe about adoption is wrong.

  1. This woman spilt some ash from her cigarette into her iced coffee and demanded a new one because it would make her ill. I just stared at her cigarette dumbfounded…..

  2. Yet another reason I cannot work in food service. People annoy the shit out of me. Then again… my coworkers seem to do a good job at that…

    heh.

  3. OMG! I do that! Not complain to the management, but order a diet coke or water or a plain iced tea with my meal. Always.

In my case, it’s usually because if I’m going to splurge on something high cal/fat, I don’t want the extra sugar from a regular soda on top of it.

But I always wonder if the wait-staff is laughing at me. Now I know! 😉

  4. Biche. Did she say her reason for wanting skim? I prefer 2% in coffee, for no other reason than it suits my taste buds best. But, hell, I’d never kick up a fuss if only whole milk was available. Pooey to her.

  5. Can I say that the Pumpkin Ravioli sounds soooo good? That lady sounds like an idiot though. I am not a rude person, but I especially would not be rude to the person serving my food for the evening. I almost always order water too, but if I wanted skim milk (I do drink 1%) and it wasn’t available I wouldn’t cause a fuss over it. Some people… they think the world revolves around them.

  6. The pumpkin ravioli sounds good.

Your post reminded me of why I don’t miss managing or cooking in the food industry. Sometimes we got the nuttiest customers.
